CFFS Spotlights an Employee Whose Compassion and Dedication Lead to Success

Behavioral Health | CFFS | Employee Appreciation | INSCOM | Mental Health | Military Health | Tinaa Award | US Army

Mission success means varying things when you have a company with different capabilities and contracts. For Cape Fox Facilities Services (CFFS), LLC, a Cape Fox Corporation subsidiary, one of its contracts defines mission success as expertise-driven behavioral health care to military service members. CFFS holds the behavioral health contract with the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Mission success is only possible through the exceptional specialists providing that care. In February, CFFS awarded a Cape Fox Employee Spotlight Tinàa Award to one of those specialists, Andrew Johnson. The Cape Fox Tinàa Award for Employee Excellence is given to employees who demonstrate dedication, performance, dependability, productivity, and attitude. Andrew is well-deserving of this award because of his dedication to the mission and his intuitive, thoughtful approach that stands as an example to his team.

Andrew began working for CFFS in 2024. He has performed his job duties with excellence. These duties include:

  • Conducting or assisting in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. He performs an initial basic assessment, including standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological and nursing assessments.
  • Providing patient education on recognizing and identifying mental health issues.
  • Observing, monitoring, recording, and reporting his patient’s progress.
  • Conducting or assisting in conducting group and individual counseling interventions, therapeutic community, and other related milieu activities according to Defense Health Agency policy.
  • Instituting precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide; and,
  • Obtaining and recording vital signs of patients who come to the clinic.
  • Coordinating with other agencies regarding specified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and administrative functions.
  • Contacting military and community agencies to obtain collateral information.
  • Explaining and interpreting mental health services to patients or families.
  • Assisting or arranging patient referrals to public, private, and military community agencies.
  • Preparing and maintaining records and reports pertaining to specialty services.

Andrew is honored by this recognition, but his greatest joy comes from his work on the INSCOM contract. He recently commented that he “really enjoys helping Soldiers get connected with mental health services. Soldiers can be seen with the Behavioral Health Team within 7 business days, which I think is awesome!” He further added what he would like to do for professional growth, stating, “I would like to help support the Cape Fox Behavioral Health Technicians however I can. I know having reliable and competent help is a great asset to the Behavioral Health Providers!”

Prior to working with CFFS, Andrew was an active-duty Air Force Mental Health Technician and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. With his experience and his talent, Andrew has demonstrated a remarkable ability and it was the customer, Major Spesard-Langfield, Commander, 460th Mental Health Flight, Space Force Base Buckley, who presented Andrew with his Tinàa Award.

CFFS is honored to have Andrew’s expertise and thoughtful approach as part of its team, and we are delighted to present him with this award. His dedication, professionalism, and compassion exemplify what the Cape Fox Tinàa Award signifies. Thank you, Andrew!
