The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a prominent medical research agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The NIH Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) is one of the agency’s leading research facilities, dedicated to studying infectious diseases and developing treatments and vaccines.
The security contract between CFFS and NIH RML encompasses the provision of comprehensive security services for the RML campus and its personnel. The scope includes physical security, access control, personnel screening, surveillance, and emergency response protocols.
Security Assessment and Customized Solutions:
CFFS initiated the contract with a thorough security assessment of the RML facility, understanding its unique vulnerabilities and risks associated with biomedical research. Based on the assessment, CFFS designed a customized security plan tailored to meet the specific needs of the research laboratories and the sensitive data and specimens they house.
Highly Trained Security Personnel:
CFFS employs highly trained security personnel with expertise in handling sensitive research environments. The security team is equipped to handle potential security threats, maintain a secure perimeter, monitor access control points, and respond to emergencies swiftly.
Access Control and Surveillance Systems:
As part of the contract, CFFS implemented advanced access control systems to regulate entry into restricted areas and ensure only authorized personnel have access. They also installed a comprehensive surveillance system with CCTV cameras strategically placed throughout the campus to enhance monitoring capabilities.
Security Protocols for Sensitive Data and Specimens:
Due to the sensitive nature of the research conducted at NIH RML, CFFS developed strict security protocols to protect confidential data and biological specimens. These protocols comply with relevant regulatory requirements and adhere to best practices for safely handling sensitive materials.
Securing Critical Infrastructure for Mission-Critical Programs
