Cape Fox Mountain Point (CFMP), a subsidiary of Cape Fox Corporation (CFC), has established itself as an industry leader with a high standard of excellence. That standard of excellence has applied not just to the work CFMP provides but also to the expert staff it employs. Once such staff member, who recently joined the team on CFMP’s Savannah Up River and Down River DO Injection Facilities contract, Samantha Shadrick, is just one of the exceptional employees who stand out from the start. As a result, she was recently awarded the Cape Fox Tinàa Award for Employee Excellence—an award presented to individuals who exemplify dedication, outstanding performance, dependability, productivity, and a positive attitude.
Samantha is a recent University of Tennessee Graduate with a B.S in Geology and Environmental Science. She started at CFMP in June 2026 as an Entry-Level Project Coordinator. While her tenure has been short, she has immediately embraced CFMP’s core values of open and honest communication and has demonstrated her knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and EM385 Health and Safety, the Safety and Occupational Health Requirements Manual published by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). During her visit to the DO Facilities in Savannah, Georgia, Samantha identified hearing hazards associated with the Facilities’ operation buildings, which prompted additional hearing PPE requirements and implementation of a hearing monitoring program.
Jamie Palutis, Director of Environmental Operations, nominated Samantha, and recently stated about Samantha, “Her work ethic is unquestionable. She is participating in a complex environmental remediation proposal effort that requires long hours and working weekends to meet an aggressive deadline. She exceeded her supervisor’s expectations in her research of historical documents to develop the Basis of Estimates, which includes site history, technical approaches, and a pricing methodology for costing several types of remediation tasks. She truly deserves an employee shout-out and a nomination for the Cape Fox Tinaa Award for Employee Excellence.”
