Statistics is the science of collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting empirical data. Biostatistics is the application of statistical methods to the study of biology, medicine, and public health. It involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to develop strategies that improve health. In February, Cape Fox Federal Integrators (CFFI), LLC, a Cape Fox Corporation (CFC) subsidiary, won a contract with the U.S. Air Force’s 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) to provide Biostatistician Support. CFFI has a solid relationship with other contracts that support the 711 HPW and is looking forward to expanding its capabilities to provide strategic mission success with this latest contract.
711 HPW, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education, and consultation under a single organization. The 711 HPW has become a world leader in studying and advancing human performance.
CFFI will provide biostatistician support for the 711 HPW, Human Effectiveness Directorate, Air and Space Biosciences Division, Product Development Branch, Women’s Health and Performance (RHBAW). CFFI will provide research services, clinical and basic science research coordination, biostatistician support services, and assistance in areas required to meet the objectives and accomplish the work required for the 711 HPW/RH overall organizational research requirements. CFFI will be staffing the contract with an expert in biostatistics to focus on two main areas:
- Data Collection/Data Support – providing operational research and basic science coordination, acting as a subject matter expert and point of contact, utilizing descriptive statistics to summarize data, writing statistical analysis plans, carrying out statistical analyses, and interpreting and reporting findings.
- Technical Interchange – working closely with data developers and Information Technology support staff to ensure data quality, completeness, and integrity, increase data sharing capabilities and research partnerships with other principal stakeholders, draft or edit research protocols, proposals, scientific abstracts, manuscripts, slide presentations, and posters.

Biostatisticians work alongside others to design studies and analyze data, develop new methodologies to improve healthcare and health systems, and use computer software and computer science to analyze data. CFFI is delighted to continue to support the U.S. Air Force and is looking forward to delivering our outstanding services in significant new ways with this contract, which will expand our expertise and capabilities.
