Kwaan Tech, LLC, a Cape Fox Corporation (CFC) subsidiary, recognizes Laura Brooks for her expertise, creative and innovative solutions, commitment, and dedication to the mission of the contract. Laura is an IT Program Manager on the Department of State (DoS) Bureau of Diplomatic Security High Threat Programs Resource Management contract. Laura’s excellence was shown from the start, and Kwaan Tech took notice of her achievements and talents. As a result, Kwaan Tech proudly presents Laura with a Cape Fox Tinàa Award for Employee Excellence. This award is presented to employees who demonstrate dedication, performance, dependability, productivity, and attitude.
Laura brought extensive technical expertise to her work with the DoS starting with Kwaan Tech in December 2022. She has been a shining example right from the start. Laura’s daily tasks include planning and assisting the DoS’ International Programs Directorate (DS/IP) SharePoint Coordinator with the Security Management Console (SMC) and related SharePoint-based tools and technologies that enable communication, collaboration, and information sharing between the DOS, DS/HTP, DS/IP and all USG facilities under Chief of Mission authority abroad. She also coordinates with the DS/IP SharePoint Coordinator to ensure that the SMC meets the requirements of the organization and operates on a continuous basis to provide highly effective information sharing, reporting, and analytical capabilities. She plans, develops, and implements policies, procedures, tools, systems, templates, guidance, activities, and infrastructure to optimize and strengthen DS/HTP business processes and practices both domestically and overseas, manages the documentation of critical RSO business practices to promote and sustain an environment that drives continuous improvement in mission effectiveness, leverages existing DOS enterprise tools to simplify the development of new applications, improving data sharing capabilities, and reducing overall costs, reviews and analyzes established directives, policies, and procedures affecting RSO operations to identify opportunities to standardize guidance. Laura has performed her extensive duties with an understanding of the needs and wants of the customer and exceeds the expectations of her position.
Laura stood out recently for her work delivering critical technology support for a unique mission collaboration tool to support the DOS High Threat Programs portfolio making communication and coordination with the teams at post much simpler and more streamlined while providing access to frequently asked questions. Her support has been critical to getting this program up off the ground and will be crucial as it continues to scale to more posts.
Laura is a goal-oriented team player who always makes her mark. As an example, many of us may have a goal to visit all fifty US states but is an individual who has reached that goal. Travel is one of Laura’s passions. In fact, she recently visited Alaska and stayed in the Cape Fox Lodge.
