This award is presented to employees who stand out for their dedication, performance, dependability, productivity, and attitude. Mario’s dedication to his work and compassionate approach with the patients has shown his commitment and Eagle Health values having him on the Eagle Health team.
Mario began working with Eagle Health in November 2020. He works at Fort Bliss, Texas to support the U.S. Army Audiology contract. Mario has excelled in his position. He conducts the Department of Defense (DoD) Hearing Booth Technician Certification Course for over 40 active-duty service members and DoD Civilians and all required hearing exams for In Processing, ETS / PCS, Schools Packets, Chapters, Retirement, IDES/MED-BOARD, and Physicals, and he conducts hearing readiness exams, pre-and post-deployment hearing exams, and trains soldiers.
The Chief of the Hearing Program at Fort Bliss recognized Mario for his “tireless work during the COVID-19 recovery period and backlog. The staff worked to increase the Installation’s Hearing Readiness by 7% between November 2020 and July 2021 ultimately exceeding medical readiness standards.”
As a result of changes instituted because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the clinic transitioned from a walk-in clinic to appointment-only. As a result, there have been increased calls and emails for the staff who still had to maintain the daily duties. Additionally, the Hearing Program implemented a new type of inspection at Fort Bliss. As a result, staff completed over 20 inspections during the COVID-19 pandemic. In conjunction with the inspections, staff assisted with providing unit hearing health education and over 100 medical hearing protection fittings, significantly reducing the chances of Soldiers experiencing an acoustic trauma.
Mario stood out for continuing to perform his job exceptionally while also adapting to the procedural changes that were being put in place. Mario’s exceptional talent translates into his personal life with his love of cooking. He also enjoys sporting events and spending time with his parents. Eagle Health is thankful to have Mario on our team. His exceptional performance has added value to the work and the mission of the contract. Thank you, Mario!
