Eagle Health Spotlights a Leader Whose Mission is to Give Back to Military and Their Families

On April 20, 2021, Eagle Health, LLC, a Cape Fox Corporation subsidiary, awarded a Cape Fox Employee Spotlight Tinàa Award to David Machuca. David began working for Eagle Health in 2018.  He brought his past experience working for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to Eagle Health and has been a valuable team member since starting.  David was nominated for the Cape Fox Tinàa Award for his Leadership Skills.  He leads by example, and his team respects and listens to him.  Eagle Health is honored and appreciates what David has done to lead his team.

David began his career with DHA almost six years ago as a Financial Manager for the Pharmacy Rebate Program, where he managed over 200 Pharmaceutical companies. His work involved managing all aspects of accounting processes and validation, including account payables and receivables and office of general counsel collections analysis.  After three years working with the Pharmacy Program, he joined the Accounting Team as an accountant, and within two years, he was made the Accounting Team Lead.  As the Team Lead, David oversaw several departments, including Accounting, Budget, Systems Support, and Improper Payments.  His team ensured contract payments, modifications, audits were performed for over 30 contracts, disbursing $22 billion yearly on time without incurring any interest.

David has been a true leader to the DHA Contract Resource Management (CRM) Team because of his vast accounting knowledge and expertise. He stood out because of his leadership skills which have emphasized his ability to see and understand the bigger picture of CRM’s mission by ensuring the accounting technicians receive supported training to perform at the level needed to ensure success.

David is proud of the work he does.  He recently expressed that “the work that we do really affects change.  We make sure our military, retirees, and their families receive the health care needs they deserve.” David feels like he is able to give back to our military and their family with the work he does every day with DHA.  Cape Fox and Eagle Health are honored to celebrate a true leader and champion of our team.  Thank you, David!
