On April 8, 2020, Concentric Methods employee, Andrea Jones, was presented a 2020 Tináa Award of Excellence. The Tináa Award is the Cape Fox Corporation employee recognition program for employees of the corporation and its subsidiary companies, which first began in January 2020. Andrea is the first recipient of the Tináa Award. Employees who receive the Tináa Award have gone above and beyond their duties to perform outstanding work and contribute as team members to the mission objectives. Andrea is recognized for her exceptional contributions to the National Institute on Aging (NIA) sponsored Healthy Aging in Neighborhoods of Diversity Across the Life Span (HANDLS) research team as a Clinical Research Coordinator, exceeding her task order requirements.
Andrea started her Clinical Research Coordinator position supporting NIA in June 2019. In contribution to the HANDLS study, Andrea collects and processes blood samples from research study participants, obtains informed consents, performs HIV pre- and post-testing counseling, collects and records vital signs, performs intake procedures (screening assessments) for research subjects, and administers Physical Performance Battery and Visual Function Battery testing. Her duties are performed on a mobile research vehicle (MRV) stationed at rotating locations in Baltimore City to access different communities, and Andrea has quickly acclimated to this unique work environment.
Andrea’s NIA colleagues nominated her for a special recognition award based on her significant contributions and dedication to the HANDLS Program. Andrea’s NIA Operations Manager, who nominated her for the special recognition reward, stated, “From day one, she applied her previous knowledge and experience while acquiring training on HANDLS specific data collection and clinical procedures. She is a high performer who can work independently. Most notable is her ability and willingness to step in when needed. Andrea proved she is a natural leader and can be flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing work environment. She is an asset to the study team, and we’d like to recognize her exemplary contributions and her extra efforts.”
Andrea has been an invaluable resource for the NIA HANDLS team. She has shown enthusiastic dedication and is unsurpassed when it comes to the reliability of her work. Concentric Methods is very proud of Andrea and all she has brought to the team in experience and knowledge, and all she shows each day with her dedication to step in where needed. Congratulations, Andrea Jones!
