One employee has demonstrated a quiet and steady leadership presence, exemplifying dedication, resolve, and outstanding performance in her job and in support of the company’s mission. Karen Hensley is a Cape Fox Shared Services (CFSS) employee in Contracts. She was recently recognized for her talent, expertise, and dedication with a Cape Fox Tinàa Award for Employee Excellence. This award recognizes employees who demonstrate commitment, performance, dependability, productivity, and a positive attitude.
Karen has been with CFSS for nine years. She is a Contracts Manager who works on Small Business Administration requirements, annual reporting, proposals, and contract closeouts. Recently, CFSS was tasked with responding to a massive SBA 8(a) data call with a short turnaround timeline. This involved multiple functional areas across the Cape Fox organization. Karen did not hesitate; she did not even need to be asked to help; she jumped in and took the lead. She seamlessly pulled everything together, set up daily tag-ups, and provided exceptional support to the team. Additionally, Karen proactively reached out to team members across the effort to assist with their action items while continuing to manage her own workload. As a result of her latest project and her outstanding performance, Karen was nominated for the Cape Fox Tinàa Award by her colleague, Stephen Sickles, who stated, “Karen exceeds expectations exponentially on a daily basis. She is a huge value add to the Cape Fox Shared Services Team and all stakeholders she supports across the company.”
