On July 1, 2024, Cape Fox Endeavor (CFE), LLC, a subsidiary of Cape Fox Corporation (CFC), began work on a new five-year contract with the National Institute of Health (NIH). CFE will provide NIH’s Biosurety Program support services critical to the biological surety mission of the Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS) at the NIH and the Department of Health in Bethesda, MD, Rocky Mountain Labs in Montana, and the Integrated Research Facility (IRF), in Frederick, Maryland. This contract will utilize CFC’s previous experience with the NIH to provide exceptional research and administrative skills.
Biological Surety Program (BSP) at the NIH works toward biosafety, biosecurity, and quality assurance to reduce the risk of loss, theft, diversion, and misuse of biological materials. This program was established to ensure that work on high-risk infectious disease research is performed safely and responsibly by trained individuals. There are approximately 600 participants in the NIH BSP.
CFE will provide administrative support, including copying, collating, organizing materials, and desk services. It also includes quality control efforts on database records, document retention, scheduling behavioral health screenings, initiating appropriate background investigations, and ensuring that occupational medical reviews are planned and completed. Additionally, CFE will contribute technical expertise through behavioral health support by evaluating and assessing participants’ knowledge and approaches to safety and overall safety culture at the NIH.
This is an exceptional new opportunity for CFE to broaden our scope of capability and further grow our expertise. CFE appreciates the opportunity to continue the longstanding support given to the NIH from Cape Fox FCG with this new opportunity.
